PLASTIC BAN – ENVIRANMENT V/S ECONOMY.
The ban
on plastic started 21 years ago. The state of Sikkim, in India’s northeast,
launched the ban in 1998. State officials took the action after heavy rain
caused several major landslides in the area. Himachal was the first state to
ban polythene shopping bags in India. Now you may ask which country is free
from plastic it's Rwanda who aims to be completely plastic-free by 2020. Did you
know who invented plastic? It was Leo Hendrik Baekeland in 1907.
Plastic
bags must be banned in order to reduce pollution. We can see north Pacific
Ocean is the most polluted of the world’s oceans. We produce 300 million tons
of plastic every year and more than 8 million tons of plastics are dumped to
oceans. In this present blog, I will tell how the plastic ban benefits the environment
and affects the economy. It will also affect nature but not this much.
ENVIRONMENT
As
plastic bags are not biodegradable, they are dumped in oceans. Marine creatures
eat plastics and die. Which is making a decrease in marine creatures. Which
leads to a decrease in biological activities in the sea. Which will be a major throwback to all the human race. By banning the plastic, we can stop polluting the
oceans. And start cleaning the oceans. And we can also find new creatures in
oceans. But we should not burn plastic after banning them because I saw it when
people who seized plastics in our shops. They just burnt them which will make
more pollution than using them. I don’t know what they were thinking.
We must
use the remaining plastics in making waterproof roads so there will be fewer holes
in the roads. We have more holes in Indian roads. Or else we can build a house
with waste plastic bottles. And use plastic bags in making art and crafts. But
plastic production must be stopped. You can even sign petitions I will leave
the link below so you can also sign. And raise the voice against the filing of the world with plastics. I just signed the petition. We as humans should raise
voice against plastic production.
ECONOMY
As we
produce 26000 tons of plastics every year in India. And India ranks in 15th
place in the list of biggest plastic polluter globally. As we produce so much,
I think we waste more money on them. There are most Single-use plastics
produced which is very bad for the environment.
By
banning the economy will fall for some years as we must produce more paper bags
which are costlier than plastic bags. As we are more addicted to plastics. Many
people wrap good with plastic and export and import it. Plastic cant is stopped
completely in a short time. It's a very long time of patience and sacrifice. And e
must be ready to sacrifice so we can give the clean land to our children.
Many
products like chips, biscuits, noodles and etc are packed in plastics. Now they
have to close the co. or pack them in a paper bag. But it can’t be kept for more
days. And many more.
We can’t
completely ban plastics but, we can ban single-use plastic bags completely.

earth safe before the earth is filled with plastics”
